Car break-in arrests

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police arrested two men Wednesday night believed to be connected with multiple car break-ins and stolen trailers.

The suspect’s vehicle, a Silver HHR, was spotted by police.

Police tried to stop the vehicle on Gunbarrel Road at Shallowford Road, but the vehicle fled.

Police got the license plate number, but did not chase it.

Other officers intercepted the vehicle at Jenkins Road residence.

Police say the suspects were trying to hide the vehicle in the garage.

The driver Joe Clark was taken into custody, but the passenger ran inside the house.

Police talked the second suspect Chris Whittle out of the house and arrested him too.

Police found a stolen trailer in a separate garage with stolen property like tools and guns inside.

It’s going to take police several days to process the recovered property.
