Car Chase After Suspected Burglary Ends in Crash
It ended when the suspect’s car rammed into a veterinary clinic.
Witnesses might ask how three men survived the violent crash of their car into the side of a veterinary clinic on East Brainerd road.
But they did…and two people who crawled out disappeared into woods behind the building.
Here’s the way on motorist described the incident.
DAVID REED, WITNESS "Yes, I actually saw the guys flying …Coming up through here…I was on my way to the temp agency topick up my check. I saw the guy flying through here..I thought I was dreaming or what not, I seen the car coming..flying jump …It was so crazy man."
It all started about 10:30 here at this home at 9522 Fuller Road.
Police report 3 burglars took guns and other personal property and fled the scene in a light-colored 4-door sedan.
Police picked up chase and were joined by the Tennessee Highway Patrol..and Hamilton county sheriff’s officers.
That’s when the drover lost control on East Brainerd road and hit a retaining wall at the animal hospital…sending rocks crashing into the buildings.

DR.JOHN HADDOCK, BRAINERD HILLS VETERINARY HOSP. "There’s large, cantaloupe-size rocks that just showered into the building when that car hit the ramp,,hit the wall there."
David Reed was behind the suspect car.
DAVID REED, WITNESS "I feel like God saved my life.That could have been me. I was right behind him, man..when he got ran off and somebody else was not paying attention to what they was doing."
One of the men was captured but two others ran into the woods.
They were described as black men, but no estimated age was available.
A bright note to the story is it could have been worse.
DR.JOHN HADDOCK "All the animals were in the far side of the building….and they were all never even in any danger."
The suspect who was caught has not been identified, but he was reportedly taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
