Car Drives Off Side of Mowbray Mountain

Mowbray Mountain (WDEF) A car jumped the guardrail of a highway on the side of Mowbray Mountain this morning.

The driver lost control around 9:30 at 846 Montlake Road.

First responders say it road the guardrail for 25 to 50 feet before flipping over and landing on it’s top.

Volunteers from the Mowbray, Soddy Daisy and Sequoyah Fire Departments conducted a rope rescue to bring up the two people in the car.

They were both taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.

Investigators say both speed and the weather played a role in the crash.
