Casey’s Barge Finally Leaves Chattanooga

The barge has called the North Shore home since 2009.

Developer Allan Casey brought it here to turn it into a floating restaurant, but his financial setbacks left it to become an eyesore.

Local leaders have been demanding for months that it be taken away.

A bankruptcy has arranged for a Boloxi, Mississippi company to float it away for scrap.

The tugboat arrived Tuesday to take it away, but the project has been plagued by problems.

It finally left Chattanooga just before 6 p.m. on Thursday.
