Catoosa Co. Approves Budget, Property Tax Increase

CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — It looks like Catoosa County residents will be paying more in property taxes next year.

The board of commissioners approved their new budget Friday night.

It includes a net county property tax increase of seven percent.

County officials say the new balanced budget reflects a millage rate of 7.348, up 1.53 mills from last year.

Commissioners also approved the school board’s millage rate of 15.04 mills.

This does not include city taxes for Ringgold and Fort Oglethorpe residents.

Catoosa County’s fiscal year 2023 budget is $36,508,921.

Commissioners held three public hearings on the issue.
