Catoosa County man sentenced to life for child molestation

CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A Catoosa County man faces life in prison after a jury found him guilty of child molestation and pornography.

The jury convicted 39-year-old Brandon Bennett on March 26, 2024, according to the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney (DA).

They convicted him of 15 counts of child sex offenses following a two-day trial.

The DA said Bennett was found guilty of the following charges.

  • 2 counts of aggravated child molestation
  • 1 count of incest
  • 3 counts of child molestation
  • 6 counts of sexual exploitation of children
  • 2 counts of computer pornography
  • 1 count of invasion of privacy

Judge Brian House sentenced Bennett to life with the first 100 years to be served in prison.

The jury convicted him after deliberating for just 15 minutes.

Several witnesses testified against Bennett during the trial. Plus, the DA said they presented evidence from Bennett’s phone.

Assistant District Attorney David Wolfe spent almost two years preparing this case for trial.
