CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — The Catoosa County School Board voted on the possibility of a tax increase for property owners.

The board unanimously approved a 14.87% rollback millage rate.

By state law, Boards of Education aren’t allowed to increase their millage rates above the rate advertised to the public, which was 15.04%.

The board had proposed a 30% tax increase to fund the school budget.

The Catoosa County Commission votes tomorrow night, August 20, 2024 on their side of the budget.

Many residents still haven’t had a chance yet to challenge their property evaluations this year that are used to set your property tax.
