Catoosa County WIC farmer’s market held Monday

Ringgold, GA (WDEF) – Fresh, nutritious, locally-grown fruits on vegetables were up for grabs Monday in Catoosa County.
The Catoosa County Health Department sponsored a WIC farmer’s market.
The fresh fruits and veggies were all locally-grown and up for sale to the public.
The farmer’s market was especially designed for the county’s WIC participants.
They each got an additional $30 voucher for the fresh produce.
Amy Carroll works as a Nurse Manager at the Catoosa County Health Department.  She said, "They sit through a little, short class about how to prepare the fruits and vegetables, and then they get to go home with their fruits and vegetables. This is in addition to what they already get from the WIC program.
