CDOT temporarily closes portion of Standifer Gap Road for stormwater pipe repairs

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  CDOT has temporarily closed a portion of Standifer Gap Road due to a damaged stormwater pipe.

On Thursday, July 31, 2025, flooding came close to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center due to the damaged pipe.

Standifer Gap Road will be temporarily closed to all traffic between Jenkins Road and Walker Road while crews make the repairs.

CDOT says the repairs are expected to be done by late Friday afternoon, August 1, 2025, or early Friday evening.
