Celebration for Supreme Court Ruling

"I am so happy," said pastor Chuck Hill.

Excitement was the theme for today.  After the monumental Supreme Court ruling, a huge crowd gathered at Rosses Landing here in Chattanooga to celebrate.

Chuck said, "Considering, we had literally hours to do it.  I think we put together a pretty good example of what people in Chattanooga are doing and thinking."

It did rain a little on the party, but that couldn’t put a damper on the occasion.

Councilman Chris Anderson said, "We waited so many years for this day. I don’t think a little bit of rain is going to scare anybody off."

Now that the rally is over, it’s time to go back to work, and councilman Chris Anderson said that on Tuesday he plans to reintroduce the nondiscrimination ordinance.

"Well, when we had the domestic partner ordinance and the non discrimination ordinance, several members of the council said I would vote for the non discrimination ordinance if it were separate. I have got it on tape that they said that. Let’s see if they meant it. I’m introducing it on Tuesday. It will be on the councils agenda on July 7th, and let’s see if the city council will affirm that we should fire any employee because of who they love."
