Central Crossing Condos Groundbreaking

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Chattanooga officials gathered this morning for the groundbreaking of Central Crossing Condos.

The 50-thousand square foot development cost a total of 17 million dollars.

It will be sleek modern looking building at the intersection of Central and Rossville Avenues.

The development will also include more than 32 residential condos and five commercial units.

Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly considers this housing important for Chattanooga’s housing growth.

“I think these are going to be higher end but there will be some commercial, and as I’ve said before, new housing units, anywhere, increase affordability everywhere because it plays to the law of supply and demand, so it’s definitely going to help with the housing crisis and it will add some new economic vitality to the area.”  said Mayor Tim Kelly

Construction for the condos will begin tomorrow and will take at least 18 months to be completed.

One bedroom condos will likely run about 400,000 dollars.

Two and three bedrooms will cost you a little more.
