CFC Player Farid Sar Sar Got to Work Out With Soccer Legend Lionel Messi

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) If you want to be the best…never hurts to train with the best.
CFC defender Farid Sar Sar enjoyed that luxury…working out with soccer legend
Lionel Messi.
News 12’s Brian Armstrong has the Messi details.

Said Sar Sar:”So imagine for me It was like a dream come true.”

Chattanooga FC head coach Rod Underwood says consistency is the key to being the best soccer player you can be.

Said Underwood:”There’s very little difference between every player on our team. Very little difference.”

But when you talk about a player like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s a whole other level.

Said Underwood:”When you put Messi, Ronaldo, those guys, that’s like trying to compare someone to Michael Jordan, even LeBron James.”

CFC defender Farid played for Inter Miami 2 and trained with Messi when he joined Inter Miami.

Said Sar Sar:”It’s crazy, everyone like, the first probably two months, I can say, everyone was looking at him, even warming up, walking. All the players who have, uh, big stars in Miami, and all of them were like, uh, amazed by Messi, you know, he’s a different level.”

Farid and Messi hail from Argentina, and with that, an extra level of bond, including a picture with the Ballon d’Or.

Said Sar Sar:”I actually sent it to my family, like, two days after the picture, because I was looking at the picture and I didn’t believe it before. So, it was crazy, I asked Leo, can we take a photo, and he said, yeah, of course. Of course, like no problem. We were talking about it. I was joking. Uh, I said, give me one. You have eight already. And he was laughing. So it was crazy. The best picture I have in my life for sure.”

So wait, does he rank messy over Argentina legend Diego Maradona?

Said Sar Sar:”It’s tough for me because I’m from Argentina. I think playing wise, Messi is the best. Um, Diego Maradona, I have something personal with him in my heart. It’s like, uh, the love that you have to your mom. It’s with Diego because he’s a, he’s a legend. Um, but yeah, I think Messi, Messi is better to be honest.

Messi is the GOAT, yeah. ”
