CFC Players May Give Joey Chestnut a Run For His Eating Chops
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The CFC are doing their Joey Chestnut imitation this season with the way they’re eating up the competition. Chattanooga is unbeaten in league play. And it sounds like the boys in blue have a few players who could serve as Joey Chestnut’s eating stunt double, especially around a Fourth of July party. News 12’s Brian Armstrong went on the hunt for the Joey Chestnut’s of the CFC.
Said defender Joseph Perez: “Good question. Let me eat my watermelon. Think about it”
Chattanooga FC has to eat plenty of food to stay unbeaten. But in the spirit of the 4 July, who would be the Joey Chestnut of Chattanooga FC
Said Perez “Lenny, for sure. Lenny. Why Lenny? He just stuffs his mouth every single time.”
Said head coach Rod Underwood: “I’m going to say Lenny, I’m going to say Lenny because of his personality.I mean, he would like I think he would just think he would just embrace it and he would just give it all he’s got.”
Lenny says it’s not him.
Said striker Lenny Lopez: “JP’s. First. He’s always eating like, we had a barbecue on July 4 and he ate everything.Everything was on his plate, everything. He couldn’t even move after. So I’m going with JP.”
Lenny wasn’t the only player whose name came up multiple times when it came to who eats the most food.
Said striker Markus Naglestad: “John Burke, probably.I don’t know, he just looks like he has a healthy appetite.I’m not calling him fat or anything.”
Said midfielder Juan Louis: “I know John Burke loves these hot dogs, always talking about it. For some reason.”
Said keeper John Burke: “Toli can eat a lot,and I know he loves hot dogs.He usually eats, like, at a good sitting. When we have barbecues, he can eat like, ten just sitting there. But he doesn’t really like using the bun.He doesn’t like carbs, so he just eats the dogs.”
All this food is obviously showing itself with the success on the field
.Lopez: “Sebastian, my roommate, can eat.Yeah, he eats a lot.I cook for him all the time. He’s been eating good. That’s why he’s looking so good on the field.Man played his 90 minutes and I know I’m a chef, so his first shout out was to me.”
Said midfielder Mutaya Mwape: “L
ast time we had the barbecue, I didn’t see him put food down, so he always had food on his plate. So I’ll say Sebastian”
