Chattanooga firefighters extinguish flames in new townhomes

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Late Monday night and with high windy conditions, Chattanooga firefighters were able to stop spreading flames from destroying newly built townhomes.

At 10:57 PM, the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a call at 1629 Adams Street. They found smoke coming from the roof of a three-story townhouse, where a fire was located shortly.

Cfd3An interior attack was made, and the fire was under control in 15 minutes. The crew was also able to contain the fire to the second and third floors only.

The other townhouse units, while under construction, received no damage.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
