Midland Pike home to be demolished after fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A Woodmore community home was destroyed Wednesday morning in a fire.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to the fire started just after 6 a.m. The house was located in the 4500 block of Midland Pike.

Neighbors had called 911 to report the fire. Firefighters also said they could see the flames from North Moore Road.

Crews dealt with live wires down in the backyard and partial collapse of the roof as they started to combat the fire.

According to CFD, there was no one inside the home during the fire.

The fire was under control by 6:48 a.m.

Now, authorities are investigating to determine what caused the fire.

The fire department is working with Chattanooga building inspectors to demolish the damaged home.
