Chad Voytik Moves Closer to Starting QB Job at Pitt

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Sophomore Chad Voytik is moving closer to grabbing the starting quarterback job at Pitt.
Voytik took the majority of the snaps with the first team during a scrimmage over the weekend, drawing praise from coach Paul Chryst.
Voytik, a sophomore from Cleveland, Tennessee, and junior Trey Anderson are both competing to be the starter when the Panthers open the season against Delaware on Aug. 30. Though Chryst has yet to name a winner, Voytik has been impressive all month.
Wide receiver Tyler Boyd says the Panthers have all their trust in Voytik, who came off the bench to help lead the team to a win over Bowling Green in the Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl last December.
