Chatt Prep Practice Field Features a Gazebo

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) It’s hard to believe Chatt Prep is one of the top teams in Class A football when you see their practice field.
It’s basically the school’s courtyard complete with a gazebo.
Brian Armstrong has the story.

<Chattanooga Prep’s practice football field almost looks like playing football in your backyard.
Said quarterback Austin Jones:”My little cousins and everything. Playing on concrete. Sliding on concrete. But it’s whatever. I really want to play football, so I really don’t think about it.”
Despite that positive spin on the practice facilities, it does come with challenges.
Said head coach Eugene Banks:”Utilize every piece of grass we possibly can to have as much instruction as we can. Sometimes we’ve got to do long plays, so we have to turn a different direction to get an idea of how that play would look.”
But despite the setbacks, Chatt Prep won’t let it be an excuse.
Said Jones:”I don’t really think about it too much because I don’t want to complain. I don’t want to have that status of complaining every time. I work through it. Concrete right here. It’s adversity really.”
As for what the future holds, Chatt Prep is trying to control what it can control.
Said Banks:”I pray that we do get a new field. What we can control is winning. If I was somebody, I would want to put money behind a program that’s winning.”
Maybe next Friday night, they can run the avoid the gazebo play.
