Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Airport announced a new flight to Washington, D.C. beginning October 4, 2018.

The airport also says United will suspend service to Newark when the new flight to Dulles begins.

In a release, President of the Chattanooga Airport Terry Hart said, “United’s new direct flight to Washington Dulles, with over 120 destinations worldwide, is another tremendous opportunity for Chattanooga companies that are doing business in the Washington, D.C. area or on a global scale. While we are disappointed with the cancellation of the Newark service, we are very appreciative of United’s ongoing commitment to our region and our passengers who support our significant growth by flying in and out of Chattanooga.”

Delta is set to begin service to New York’s LaGuardia airport in July.

The Chattanooga Airport boarded more than 485,000 passengers in 2017.
