Chattanooga Area Food Bank opens after snow day
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Some businesses in Chattanooga have remained closed following the snow on Monday, but not the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
Though they opened late, they felt the need to serve community members.
Since opening, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank has provided more than 100 meals to families.
They say it’s important to feed families that are hungry and affected by school closures.
“Children are home, parents are missing days of work, and their kids are not at school. We know that they are counting on us to be open, and a lot of our hunger relief partners across our 20 counties are also wanting to get their doors open to be able to help their communities. They cannot open their doors if they do not have food,” said Chattanooga Area Food Bank CEO and President, Melissa Blevins.
In case you missed the opportunity today, the Foxwood location will open Wednesday starting at 9 a.m.
