Chattanooga area under an air quality alert starting midnight Aug 27

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  A Code Orange Air Quality Alert is in effect for the Chattanooga area starting at midnight, August 27, 2024.

The alert will end at midnight, August 28, 2024.

This alert has been issued by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.

A code orange means ground level concentrations within the area could become unhealthy.

Active children and adults and people with respiratory diseases like Asthma, shouldn’t be outside for long periods of time during this time.
