Chattanooga Artist Gets National Recognition
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Chattanooga woman’s artwork is getting national recognition.
Mary Hamby has been nominated to be one of USA Today’s Top Ten Makers in the USA, but she needs your help to earn the official title.
She’s been making art for as long as she can remember, as a hobby.
Now, Hamby says she works as an artist full time, selling her work for her line, Twenty Two West, at festivals and through her online store.
She designs pieces you can wear and use for your home.
Hamby says it’s an honor just to be nominated.
“It’s nice to be on lists and get nominations, but really in the end, it’s all about, I love that I get to make things, and that I get to do this for a living, and it’s a joy,” she said.
You can vote for Hamby until noon, Monday here: http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/makers-in-the-usa-best-clothing-accessories/twenty-two-west-wearable-art/.
