Chattanooga Christian Returns Plenty of Experience on Defense

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Chattanooga Christian has been a playoff staple in recent years, earning a post-season date every year since 2016.
And the Chargers might return enough experience on defense to keep that playoff streak going this fall.
News 12’s Brian Armstrong has CCS in the 30-in-30 spotlight.

Chattanooga Christian head coach Grant Reynolds is entering his second season in charge of the Chargers, and the relationship with his players continues to grow.
Said receiver Ezra Duble:”Everybody is more comfortable with coach. When he first came here, we weren’t sure. But now we’re all bought in. We’re ready to win a championship with him.”
Many players are back from last year’s team, including eight starters on defense.
Said Reynolds:”Linebackers are pretty talented coming back. Malik Lee and some of those young guys. We started a bunch of sophomores last year. We’ve got those guys back. Defensive line will be pretty decent too.”
On the other side of the ball there’s a two-person battle for the quarterback position.
Said Reynolds:”Whichever one starts, the other will come in for a key role. I could see us using two quarterbacks this year.”
Whoever the quarterback is, he’ll be looking for Ezra to make a big reception.
Said Duble:”I think about trying to just Moss them. I like to think it’s my ball. I’ve got to get it. Nobody else is getting it.”
Coach Reynolds is also happy about what his special teams will look like.
Said Reynolds:”Kicker is coming back this year. Our punter is back. And our long snapper. We’ve got one of the best long snappers in the city, and we are excited to have all those guys back as well.”
