Chattanooga Comic Con welcomes iconic celebrities this weekend

Liz Thornburgh joins News 12’s Amelia Greer to preview everything nerdy coming to the Chattanooga Comic Con.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Don’t panic if you see the Mystery Machine in Chattanooga this weekend, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo are solving a mystery at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

The mystery?  Who’s attending Chattanooga Comic Con.

After a full year of planning, Liz Thornburgh is excited for Comic Con guests to be able to see all the panelists, celebrities, and gaming that’s coming to the Scenic City.

See classic cartoon actors like Scott Innes (Scooby-Doo/Shaggy), Rob Paulsen (Pinky and the Brain), and Bill Farmer (Goofy).

Actors from some of your favorite TV shows will also be making appearances like John Wesley Shipp (The Flash) and Patrick Fabian (Better Call Saul).

Many of the featured guests are seeing Chattanooga for the first time and have dropped in for a visit.

Chattanooga Comic Con was brought together by a group of local geeks who visited various comic cons and got the idea to bring it to the Scenic City.

The event is family friendly, so grandparents and parents can bring the kids and introduce them to the heroes they grew up with.

Tickets start at $20 and the Chattanooga Comic Con runs from October 26 through October 27 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
