Tennessee Aquarium warns about growing trash in Chattanooga Creek
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Experts at the Tennessee Aquarium are concerned about trash in our creeks.
They shot video of Chattanooga Creek.
They say kayakers on the stream have noticed a massive increase in rafts of trash, predominantly discarded single-use plastic items like bottles and straws.
Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute Watershed Educators say this is a danger to the waterway and its wildlife.
On October 6th volunteers will clean up trash along creeks and the Tennessee River for Tennessee River Rescue.
