Chattanooga Exterminators protecting animals at Chattanooga Zoo

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF)-When attending the Chattanooga zoo you expect to see animals.

What you don’t often see if the work that goes on behind the scenes. Chattanooga Exterminators works provides pesticide control while making sure the animals are safe.

Just trying to maintain a healthy atmosphere for the animals, for visitors. We wanna make sure that everything we’re doing out here is healthy and safe our biggest priority of course is the safety of the animals.

Look for pest control problems. We do a lot of baiting and a lot of non-pesticide obligations. So that involves monitoring, making sure there’s not a pest problem and then we can monitor and find out where it is and then we assert it.

It’s a different challenge then most other jobs for Chattanooga Exterminators because the most homes don’t have jaguars.

Whenever we go behind the scenes like zookeepers room behind the Jaguars it’s a little scary yeah they’re right there behind, it’s all say but they’re right there behind a fence and they might be a little agitated that I’m in there but it is needed service it is necessary that we go in there.

And the company is female owned which isn’t typical in the industry.

That makes us a little unique and we just wanna make sure we’re doing the best we can do in the industry and show that females can do just as good of a job in this industry as men do.

They are also helping preserve history at the zoo.

they have a lot of historical buildings on the property and they are concerned about preserving those historical buildings and one of the things we’re doing is we’re implementing some termite control at those buildings and making sure that we monitor and we’re making sure that there is no further issues or damage and those buildings.
