Chattanooga FC to Learn Playoff Status Saturday
Chattanooga, Tennessee (July 8, 2017) – Chattanooga Football Club will finally learn their 2017 NPSL Playoffs status tonight after their regular season finale at FC Carolina United.
CFC currently sits in 2nd place in the Southeast Conference’s West Division that only takes the top three teams to the playoffs. Before all the teams in the division finish their regular season tonight, here are the current standings.
WEST | POINTS | GAMES PLAYED | WINS | TIES | LOSSES | GOAL DIFFERENTIAL |
New Orleans Jesters | 25 | 11 | 7 | 4 | 0 | 13 |
Chattanooga
FC |
19 | 11 | 5 | 4 | 2 | 17 |
Inter Nashville FC | 19 | 11 | 5 | 4 | 2 | 8 |
Memphis City FC | 16 | 11 | 4 | 4 | 3 | -1 |
Birmingham Hammers | 5 | 11 | 1 | 8 | 2 | -19 |
Chattanooga FC is tied in points with Inter Nashville FC, but because of goal differential, CFC is ahead. Despite the close call, a win or draw from the Boys in Blue tonight should ensure their spot in the playoffs based on their goal differential.
“You work hard all season so that you’ll be able to control your own path the playoffs and we’ve put ourselves in that position tonight,” CFC Head Coach Bill Elliott said. “I believe we’re starting to reach our full potential as a team which is what you want to be doing around playoff time.”
