Chattanooga Fire Department responds to conex container fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga firefighters responded to a fire downtown on Monday afternoon.

At 4:24 PM, the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to several calls about heavy smoke at the 1900 block of S Greenwood Avenue.

Firefighters found a conex container with items inside on fire. The surrounding grass was also burning.

Firefighters extinguished the fire that was caused by sparks from work being performed on site.

There were no injuries.
