Chattanooga Firefighters and EMS respond to an apartment fire downtown

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to an apartment fire in downtown Chattanooga Saturday evening.

At 3:35 p.m., firefighters arrived to 2505 Market Street (Mary Walker Towers) to assist with the fire.

Upon investigation, first responders found that the fire was located in the kitchen and had been extinguished by the sprinkler system.

Several apartment units nearby received water damage following the event.

There were no injuries reported.

Chattanooga Housing Authority is currently assisting the residents who were affected.
