Chattanooga firefighters battle duplex fire in Hixson

HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga firefighters battle a duplex fire on Delashmitt Road Thursday night.
It happened around 10 p.m. in Hixson.
Fire department spokesperson Bruce Garner said a male was inside one of the apartments when he noticed smoke.
Garner said he cut his arm when he escaped.
Hamilton County EMS treated him on the scene and then took him to a local hospital.
Garner said fire investigators were still working to determine who lived in the other half of the duplex.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
