Chattanooga firefighters were able to free the entrapped person from the gray Ford Focus.

The wreck happened on Highway 27 at Old Dayton Pike, near the overpass, the fire department said.

The Chattanooga Fire Department said their crews had a challenging rescue operation. This was because “the twisting and turning of the vehicle during the accident left the Ford Focus a crushed and mangled mess,” fire officials explained.
