Chattanooga firefighters prevent major house fire, rescue pets
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Firefighters with the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) prevented the spread of a house fire Tuesday morning.
Crews were dispatched to the 2700 block of Stone Trace Drive off Tyner Road in regards to a house fire.
Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the garage of the residence.
According to CFD, paint cans in the garage were having an impact on the fire, causing neighbors to report hearing several explosions.
CFD acted swiftly, and after an interior offensive attack, within minutes the flames were knocked down.
Two cats and a dog were located by firefighters, and were safely removed from the residence.
A resident received some singing to their hair during the incident.
They were checked out by EMS on scene, but were not transported to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
