Chattanooga house total loss after Friday morning fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A house on Tiger Lily Trail in Chattanooga is a total loss after a fire on Friday morning.

The house was in the 700 block of Tiger Lily Trail, near Reads Lake Road.

Someone had reported to the fire department that the house’s back porch was on fire at 9 a.m. Friday. The Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) said the fire was out by 10:48 a.m.

The house fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived. Firefighters say part of the home collapsed, near the front of the home and garage.

CFD did not report any injuries.

However, authorities said the house is a total loss. It is also part of a tri-plex and has other houses very close by.

The fire department says the “adjoining unit in the triplex has heavy smoke and water damage.”

Authorities are investigating to determine what caused the fire.
