Chattanooga Legend Retires After 53 Years

A fixture in the Chattanooga community hangs up her apron after 53 years.

Yvonne Williams, or better known as "Miss Von" to her customers at the Long Horn Restaurant, retired Friday.

She’ll no longer be waking up at 5 a.m. to cook her famous western omelette.

Instead, she says she’ll take it easy for once and has plans to have knee replacement surgery.

Williams adds, "I’m sorry about leaving, but I look forward to seeing them again, and I appreciate everything they’ve done for me during the years that I’ve been here. They have really been supportive of me, and that’s what made me stay here, because I love them and they love me."

Residents say she’ll be missed at the Market Street restaurant.

They hosted a retirement party for her Friday morning.

We want to say congratulations to Miss Von on a job well done.

We’ll miss you in front of that stove.
