Chattanooga man accused of pulling boy into apartment for sex
It happened Friday evening when Chattanooga police pulled over a driver who was speeding in the 2100 block of Windsor Street. According to the an arrest affidavit obtained by News 12, the speeding driver told the officer something was happening at a residence in the 1100 block of Arlington Avenue. He also told police his children were involved and that he was concerned for their safety.
The officer followed the man to the residence where the man confronted Emanuel Carter, 29.
While at the scene of the verbal confrontation, the officer learned that male minor was allegedly pulled into an abandoned apartment in the 2300 block of Windsor Street by Carter.
According to the arrest affidavit, Carter closed the apartment door and told the boy “you know what you have to do. You have to have sex with me.”
The boy reportedly ran from the apartment with Carter chasing after him.
According to police, the boy ran home and called his parents which prompted his father to rush home.
Police talked to an eyewitness who confirmed that Carter had chased the alleged victim from an apartment.
Carter is now facing one count of soliciting a minor.
According to Hamilton County jailers, Carter is already out of jail on a $60,000 bond.
Carter is no stranger to trouble.
Court records show he has a criminal rap sheet more than a page long with convictions that range from assault and drug possession to theft and criminal trespassing.
His next court appearance is December 14.
