Chattanooga Man Alleged Rapist Again
A Chattanooga man is accused of raping another woman years after he was convicted of a similar crime.
News 12’s Alisha Searl takes a look at how this reportedly happened while on a GPS monitoring system.
Assistant District Attorney Jason Demastus is all too familiar with Willie James Bradley.
About two years ago, he was the prosecutor who helped put Bradley in jail after two women said they were violently raped by him.
Over the weekend, another woman came forward saying she was also raped by Bradley… this time after Bradley served his sentence and was on GPS monitoring.
Certainly he has been charged before with similar crimes that he’s facing now and we were able to reach a disposition in those cases previously.
In 2014-2015, Bradley’s charges went from aggravated rape and kidnapping to aggravated assaults.
From class A felonies to class C.
They were amended based on the testing done on each victim.
Demastus and Bradley’s defense attorney ultimately came up with a 5 year deal…
But Bradley only had to serve about two of those years.
It’s a suspended sentence, it’s called a split confinement under the law.
It allows for an early release, but the criminal does have to be monitored by GPS through the probation and parole office.
They are not proactive devices, they are reactive devices.
They are meant to help collect information along the way.
Demascus says since Bradley did have a GPS monitoring system on at the time of the recent alleged crime, it could help him prosecute this new case.
