Chattanooga man arrested on sexual assault charges

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  A Chattanooga man has been arrested on sexual assault charges after inappropriately touching a woman at a gas station.

On June 21, 2024, officers with the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) responded to 3303 Broad Street for a report of Forcible Fondling.

Upon arrival, officers were able to talk to the victim about the incident.

According to the affidavit, the victim stated she was at the address to get a cup of coffee.

When she was about to put her vehicle in reverse, she was approached by an unknown man who asked for change.

The victim stated the male walked around to the drivers side of the vehicle and opened the door.

She then went onto say that she believed the male was intoxicated.

The male proceeded to talk to her, and began inappropriately touching her.

Officers observed video of the male doing the actions the victim stated.

The victim stated after he moved, she drove back to her job across the street, ran inside, and locked the door.

She was able to provide a description of the vehicle and officers were able to identify the suspect as Jackie Charles Lee.

Lee was arrested January 12, 2025, and is being charged with sexual battery.
