Chattanooga man captured for Dalton bar murder

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – The suspect in a Sunday morning fatal shooting in Dalton has been captured.

26 year old Devon R. Wheeler of Chattanooga is charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in the death Rashad Goldston at the Oyster Pub Bar.

Wheeler, who had a 2019 arrest for theft in Hamilton county, was found at a Smyner, Ga. motel this morning.

Police say Wheeler fired several shots into the vehicle driven by Goldston as he left the bar’s parking lot around 2:30 A.M.

Goldston died later at a hospital.
