Chattanooga man charged with attempted murder; bond set at $250,000

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF) — A shots fired call to 911 leads to charges of aggravated assault and attempted first degree murder.

It happened in the 1100 block of North Orchard Knob Wednesday morning.

The victim told police he was walking along the 1000 block of North Hawthorn Street when Donivan Comena, 23, drove past him in a sliver Honda. He said Comena pointed a silver pistol at him before pulling into a nearby driveway.

According to the alleged victim, Comena leaned out the driver’s side window and fired a single shot at him. The victim reportedly ran between yards to get away.

The victim told police Comena was dating his wife who was reportedly in the vehicle with Comena when the shot was fired.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by News 12, while a police officer was interviewing the victim, the victim’s wife called him and apologized for what happened. The officer overheard the conversation. The woman reportedly hung up the phone when the victim asked her where to find Comena.

Comena was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault and attempted first degree murder.

His bond was set at $250,000.
