On Friday, March 8, 2024, 21-year-old Marvin Lucious Menifee was found guilty of criminally negligent homicide and especially aggravated robbery.

In October 2021, Chattanooga police found Alfred Pitmon dead on 7th Avenue at around 1:30 a.m.

Officers said Menifee, who was only 19 at the time of the incident, shot and killed Pitmon. Witnesses said several other people were with Menifee at the time of the killing.

Police also said they found Menifee’s cell phone in Pitmon’s back yard.

A detective in the case said Menifee changed his story several times during interrogation.

In April of 2023, Menifee was arrested in another murder case.

Chattanooga police said Deountay Brown was killed at his home on Dodson Avenue. Menifee and two other people were charged with first-degree murder in this case.

However, this case has not gone to trial yet. He is scheduled to appear in court again on April 1.
