Chattanooga Market celebrates holiday weekend with ‘Red, White, and Blueberries’ event

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Market had a great turnout Sunday afternoon with activities celebrating the Fourth of July.

A “Red, White, and Blueberries” event was hosted in honor of the holiday.

The annual, handsfree pie eating contests carried out from noon to 3:00 p.m.

Entries were open to everyone with sign-ups located right at the front entrance.

First contest winner of the day, Emma Fannin enjoyed the event along with her boyfriend.

“… We showed up, went over there, wrote our names down …  and just showed up, sat down, and put a poncho on. I just saw it online ahead of time on the Chattanooga Market website,” Fannin said.

“We were looking at the events board over there, like all the events coming up, and there’s a ton. Like every weekend. And we just moved to the area a couple months ago and we’re just looking for things to do,” Fannin said.

Winners were given a free pie with whipped topping.

The market had a variety of blueberry treats with many visitors in attendance.

Many are looking forward to the upcoming national holiday on Tuesday.
