Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke Speaks on VW Welcome Center
That’s according to Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke.
City leaders are currently looking for a prime piece of property in the downtown area to build it.
The $12 million center will also host people from VW’s new research and development center.
Mayor Berke says it’s a win-win situation for everyone.
He says VW will get more eyes on its brand, and Chattanooga will be more vibrant and energetic because of it.
Berke adds, "What we want to do is integrate their brand into the Chattanooga brand. So, over the course of time by having a welcome center downtown and having more employees downtown, people every day who live and visit here will see VW and Chattanooga together."
The city wants to have the welcome center built by July 1st 2016.
