Chattanooga Mocs Receivers Stepping Up

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) One of the biggest question marks for the Mocs this season was their receiving corps.
But against ETSU, with Chattanooga trailing in the second half, there were the UTC receivers stepping up and making big catch after big catch, as Chattanooga rallied for the win.

Heading into the season, the Mocs thought they had some talented receivers….but.
Said receiver Tyron Arnett:”Before the spring there was a lot of concern in that room just because we were really young.”
The young receivers did exactly what most young people do.
Said head coach Rusty Wright:”I mean that group is just kind of growing up. They’re just kind of growing. Learning how to practice. Learning how to play. Leaning how to play at a higher level.”
To get the wideouts playing at a higher level, Coach Wright turned up the heat in practice.
Said Wright:”We put a lot of pressure on them in practice to consistently go a number of plays and do that, so when we do get into a game, they don’t winded. They don’t slow down. They can run at high speed.”
Said Arnett:”Our practices I think in my opinion are designed to be hard, so game will become a little more easier for us. In a sense on Saturdays it’s all fun and games at that point.”
Maybe that’s why the Mocs receivers are doing well.
It’s just fun and games.
Said Wright:”I think as a collective whole the sky is the limit because it’s not just one guy. It’s different guys. it’s a group that doesn’t really lack for any confidence most of the time. I think they have an opportunity. It’s a young group. I think they have an opportunity to be a really, really good group for awhile. I really do.”
