Chattanooga mom facing child abuse charge: Police say she jumped a girl

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – A Chattanooga mom is in trouble with the law after police say she jumped into a fight between two children.

Rosie Fennell, 29, of Chattanooga was arrested and charged with one count of child abuse.

According to the arrest report, the incident happened last October in the 1900 block of Laura Street.

Fennell’s young daughter reportedly got into a fight with another girl. But at some point, the report says Fennell jumped into the fight by grabbing and hitting the girl her daughter was fighting with.

The girl told police Fennell grabbed her from behind then struck her in the back.

According to police, there were two scratches on the back of the girl who was hit by Fennell.

There were reportedly two eye-witnesses who saw what happened.

A judge set Fennell’s bond at $3000.
