Chattanooga police arrest attempted rape suspect in MLK area
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police have arrested a suspect in an attempted rape in the MLK Neighborhood downtown.
The attack happened around noon on Monday.
The victim says she was followed by the suspect into her residence and then attacked.
She said he tried to rape her, and then fled.
Police posted photos of their suspect to the media and online Tuesday evening.
Investigators arrested 28 year old Thomas Lee Carr Wednesday morning.
He faces one count of attempted rape.
“I want to thank the numerous community members who provided tips that helped Chattanooga Police Officers quickly identify, locate and arrest this dangerous man,” said SVU Sergeant Scott Bales.
“Cooperation and willingness to help others is what makes our city a safer place for everyone.”
