Chattanooga police arrest third suspect in Read Avenue homicide

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Chattanooga police have arrested a third suspect in connection with the Read Avenue homicide.

The shooting occurred on July 20, 2025, in the 1700 block of Read Avenue.

The incident claimed the life of a 15-year-old male.

Two other suspects have already been arrested.

Malik Allen and Mauricio Velasquez have both been charged with Second Degree Murder in connection to this incident.

Now, the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD), has arrested and charged 18-year-old Eric Collier with Second Degree murder as well.

CPD said Collier is the third and final suspect in this case.
