Chattanooga Police fire probationary officer who is under investigation for sexual assault

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher has fired Probationary Officer Alexander Ego.

A probationary officer has graduated from the academy and served less than a year.

The TBI is investigating a criminal complaint against him for sexual assault while on duty.

The chief says his department will have no other comment on the details of the case until after the TBI investigation is complete.
