Chattanooga Police say a juvenile was shot while assaulting another person; charges pending for juvenile

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Chattanooga Police Person investigate a shooting on West 14th Street. A juvenile was shot Saturday morning.

Police say that person was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Chattanooga police say the preliminary investigation determined that the person shot was in the act of committing an aggravated assault with a firearm against another person.

They say the third party witnessed the assault, produced a firearm and fired a shot to stop a threat to life.

Charges are pending against the person who was shot while committing the Aggravated Assault. At this time no charges have been filed on the third party witness.

Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are actively investigating this case.
