Chattanooga police make arrest in Brainerd Road robbery shooting
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police (CPD) have made an arrest in connection to a robbery shooting on Brainerd Road September 14, 2024.
CPD arrested Dedrrick Middlebrooks, 21, Wednesday September 25, 2024.
He is being held at the Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Felony Reckless Endangerment, and a firearm charge.
CPD originally responded to a robbery call September 14, 2024 at 7:07 p.m.
Officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of Brainerd Road.
CPD’s report stated the victim pulled into the Chili’s parking lot and walked over to Middlebrooks vehicle.
Middlebrooks stole $700 from the victim, and drove away in a white Honda.
The victim began following Middlebrooks in another vehicle.
Before officers arrived on scene, they were informed that the victim was following Middlebrooks.
A witness that was inside the victim’s vehicle called 911 and gave a description of Middlebrooks’s car.
Middlebrooks drove to the 2100 block of South Lyerly Street and fled from the vehicle.
During his exit of the vehicle, he shot at the victim.
The victim was later transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
CPD’s Robbery Unit was able to obtain Middlebrooks phone number during the investigation, along with the license plate matching his identification.
