Chattanooga Police take new patrol bicycles to the streets
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Police Department now has patrol bicycles for “enhanced community engagement.”
The police department received brand-new bicycles to patrol downtown Chattanooga.
They say this is a proactive approach to community policing in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
“Our investment in the new bicycles shows our efforts to foster positive relationships with the community we serve,” Police Chief Celeste Murphy said. “These bicycles enhance our patrol capabilities and promote a new way of connecting with our residents and business owners while promoting a visible and approachable presence in neighborhoods, parks, and downtown areas.”
They also said the addition of these bicycles shows the department’s efforts to adapt to community needs while upholding law enforcement standards.
