Chattanooga Police write more than 140 driving citations Saturday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Police Department said officers were proactive on Saturday after receiving calls they believe were related to street racing.

The police department said it received several calls about reckless driving and noise complaints.

Motorcycle to be towed. CPD

CPD’s Traffic, DUI and Drone Units were active in the Downtown, Northshore and Highway 153 areas.

This enforcement results in 148 citations, two felony evading arrests, one DUI, one motorcycle towed, and one four-wheeler towed.

“CPD will continue to focus on deterring reckless behaviors to ensure the safety of our residents,” said Chief Celeste Murphy. “Through implementation of proactive and strategic measures, we are committed to addressing potential dangers and safeguarding our community’s well-being.”
